Dr Gregory will be at the market Saturday with oxalis bulbs, cut narcissus flowers, forsythia planting whips, fresh herbs (coriander, oregano & rosemary), starter plants (cilantro, cornflowers, iron leaf, pansies, red spider lilies & sweet pea), small trees (boxwood & red oak) and fruit wood for BBQ. Dr Gregory will also have homemade goat pine cheese from Cleveland, smoked Gouda and other artisan cheeses from Waco, artisan Gouda cheese from Farwell, Texas and artisan cheddar cheeses (jalapeno, sharp cheddar and caraway) from Dublin, Texas.

City of Nacogdoches internal recycling program makes a big impact…

NACOGDOCHES- The City of Nacogdoches pioneered an internal paper and cardboard recycling program at City Hall in July of 2010. “We wanted to take the lead to show businesses in our community how easy it is to recycle and make a difference,” said City Councilmember Shelley Brophy, “8-months into the program, the results are in, and it works.”

Returns to The Art Center

NACOGDOCHES – “The Art of Floral Design, Color & Textures from the Garden,” a Nacogdoches Azalea Trail event, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 26 in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, 329 E. Main Street.
The 11th annual floral design exhibit will feature unique floral arrangements displayed on pedestals in the Ledbetter Gallery to showcase the talents of local gardeners, designers and plant enthusiasts. A list of plant materials will be displayed with each arrangement.

NACOGDOCHES- The City of Nacogdoches and Mayor Roger Van Horn are proud to announce an upcoming Non-Profit Summit scheduled for Monday, February 21st, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 202 E. Pilar Street. The summit is the starting point to gather information so that the City of Nacogdoches can create a high impact service plan as part of its Cities of Service initiative.
