The 13th Annual Blueberry Golf Bash is Friday, May 7, at Piney Woods Country Club. One lucky golfer may take home the $25,000 Hole in One contest prize sponsored by Curtis & Clark Energy Services.
“Along with the winning teams’ prizes that are awarded at the tournament, the putting contest award sponsored by Academy Sports and Outdoors, and a number of raffle prizes, it’s exciting to have a big cash prize out there,” event chairwoman Fern Simmons said.
The tournament offers more sponsorship opportunities, and according to Simmons, businesses should make the most of the exposure.
“Be a hole sponsor and promote your business, product or service; announce an event; congratulate someone or grant birthday or anniversary wishes,” Simmons said. “We are able to offer this tournament to our East Texas golfers with generous sponsors and hard-working volunteers. This year, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will provide lunch, and LugNutz Sports Bar & Grill will serve a fajita dinner. So on top of a day of good competition, everyone will be well fed.”
The number of teams that will play is limited to 34. As of early April, more than half of those openings are filled.
“So if you want to play and have your chance at $25,000, don’t put off sending in your registration form,” Simmons said.
The deadline to register is May 3, and forms are available at the Nacogdoches County Chamber, 2516 North St. or go to www.nacogdoches.com.
