Essay and Video Contest

Tues., Jan. 11, 2011

The East Texas Research Center at Stephen F. Austin State University is sponsoring the I Found It In The Archives essay and video contest to show how the items and information found in the nation’s archives touch peoples’ lives. We’re seeking entrants who have found something special in our collections – records, documents, photos, recordings, a meaningful item or treasure. If it has meaning to you, it has meaning to us and is a wonderful basis for your entry.

Entries will be accepted from Jan. 17 to Feb. 6, 2011.

A panel of judges will choice the top five finalists and the competition will move to an online public vote from Feb. 16-Feb. 23, 2011. The top five finalists will receive a gift bag from the East Texas Research Center.
The grand prize winner will be presented with donated prizes from our sponsors on Feb. 25, 2011 and will move on to the national competition hosted by the Society of American Archivists.
